Memo sheets to print

Two single A4 page sheets to print and fold: they stay useful if your phone is lost, flat or seized. For details, see the guides Police custody and First aid.

Sheet 1: police custody

A.M.I.S: Avocat (lawyer), Médecin (doctor), Informer (a relative), Silence.

  1. I ask for a lawyer and a doctor, from the start. Word for word: "Je veux voir un avocat.", "Je veux voir un médecin."
  2. I give my identity, then stay silent until the lawyer arrives. "I have nothing to say" is a right.
  3. I talk about no one else: no names, no descriptions.
  4. I re-read every statement. I do not sign anything inaccurate; I can refuse to sign.
  5. I do not unlock my phone without talking to the lawyer.
  6. Photos, fingerprints, DNA: refusing is an offence (1 year and €15,000). I talk to the lawyer before deciding. Refusing the photo does not avoid the TAJ (criminal records processing file; guide "DNA, fingerprints and photos").
  7. I note the arrival time, the officers' names, and what is taken from me.
  8. Minor: my parents must be informed, a lawyer is compulsory.

Length: 24 hours, usually renewable once. Rights: tell a relative, see a doctor, have a lawyer.
